California dad records girls' bear encounter through glass door

March 30 (UPI) -- A California father captured video of his young daughters' close encounter with a bear that approached their sliding glass door.

Joe Ficeto posted a video to Facebook showing the bear wandering around his Lake Tahoe back deck while he and his young daughters watched through the glass door.

The girls enthusiastically greet the bear, which comes closer to the glass to investigate.

The bear places a paw on the glass, eliciting a worried "Oh boy" from the father and a flurry of angry barks from the family dog, Dash.

Ficeto said the bear left after about 45 seconds.
