March 29 (UPI) -- A teenager in North Carolina wooed a potential prom date by playing her the main theme from the Pixar film UP.

Tyler Chipwood, 17, had his future date, Adriana Fernandez, open her friend's garage door. He was inside the garage with a bundle of balloons tied to a piano, playing the song from the 2009 computer animated film.

"[Shoutout] to all my Pixar fans out there, this one's for you," Chipwood wrote on Twitter alongside a video of the "promposal."

Fernandez was taken aback at how "cute" the gesture was and stopped to film a video of the performance.

Chipwood told the Huffington Post he came up with the idea after he and Fernandez watched UP together.

"I knew that prom was coming up in a few weeks so i had to act fast," he said. "One night, my date and I were watching the movie UP and she kept telling me how much she LOVED the song. I ended up already knowing how to play it on piano so I was like, 'Hey! This is perfect!'"

He added that Fernandez accepted his proposal and the two are "insanely excited for prom."
