March 28 (UPI) -- An off-road biker participating in an event in Australia was knocked off his motorcycle by a 45-pound rock that came tumbling downhill.

Hayden Poptie of Brisbane posted a video to Instagram showing the moment the large rock came falling down the hill while he was riding up the incline as part of the Killarney State School P&C Border Ranges Trail Ride near Warwick.

The video includes footage filmed by a spectator as well as Poptie's own helmet camera footage.

"This hill climb at Killarney really rocked," Poptie joked in the post.

He said the stone was apparently dislodged by a rider farther up the hill. He said it struck him in his right shoulder.

"I had to get 10 stitches," Poptie told the Warwick Daily News. "And ended up with a heap of grazes and a hematoma on my upper arm and shoulder."

Poptie said his bike suffered only "some bend bars and a few scratches."

He said the incident has not dissuaded him from returning for next year's ride.

"No way," he said.
