March 27 (UPI) -- A pair of sheriff's deputies in Florida were dispatched to a woman's home to remove a snake that turned out to be a massive banded water snake.

The Polk County Sheriff's Office posted a photo to Facebook showing two deputies from the Ag Crimes unit, which specializes in agriculture-related calls, posing with the snake they captured inside a Lake Wales woman's home.

The sheriff's office asked Facebook users if they recognized the type of snake and later revealed experts had dubbed the nearly 6-foot serpent a banded water snake.

The sheriff's office said the snake "isn't talking" about how it managed to end up inside the woman's home.

The post came to the attention of the Marion County Sheriff's Office, which joked about enlisting the help of the Polk deputies to catch the venomous "Ocala cobra" still on the loose in the county.
