Taco truck serves customers stuck in Seattle traffic jam

March 1 (UPI) -- A taco truck in Washington state opened up on a highway to serve customers stuck in a massive traffic jam.

Rachael McQuade and her husband were stuck in traffic on I-5 in Seattle when they spotted a bright green truck and a woman walking through the traffic with a to-go box.

She discovered that the operators of the Tacos El Tajin taco truck had decided to open for business in the middle of the traffic jam and her husband made his way over to purchase four tacos and a drink.

"What do you do in a time like that? You got to make the best of it, right?" McQuade told the Seattle Times.

The truck's owner Thomas Lopez, 41, said they were on their way to serve lunch when a tanker overturned on the highway Monday morning, leaving the roads closed until 2:30 p.m.

Lopez said the traffic was not enough to keep them from meeting the lunch rush as they decided to open up shop and make the best of the situation.

"We are ready to serve food, everywhere," he said.
