The Ferrari remained in the Hollywood apartment until recently, when the man agreed to sell it as part of his retirement.
"It was on the first floor in a one-bedroom apartment, against the dining room wall facing the driveway. What he had done, and it's really interesting, it seems like he was inspired by a comic book strip because he's included that in the binder of documents. It's a comic of some guy who cut a hole in his wall," the new owner told Petrolicious.com.
If the new owner restores the car to top condition, it could be worth up to $750,000, experts said.
"One sold in Paris this year for $700,000. A car sold at Pebble Beach this year for $715,000," Terry Karges, the executive director of the Petersen Automotive Museum, told KGO-TV.
