Jan. 18 (UPI) -- A 10-foot false killer whale was rescued from a Western Australia beach after becoming stranded for a second time in two days.

Rescuers said the false killer whale was found beached Sunday near the Dawesville Marina and was taken back out to sea, but the mammal was found beached a second time the following day at Point Grey, near the Mandurah Estuary.

A video posted to Facebook by Everything Mandurah shows Monday's rescue operation, which involved lifting the whale in a sling and transporting it to the Dawesville Marina, where the sling was lowered into the water and towed out to sea.

Rescuers said the whale likely beached herself a second time because she was not released far enough from shore.

They said the whale swam away strongly Tuesday and was last seen swimming toward the estuary.
