Jan. 17 (UPI) -- An Australian wildlife expert fishing from a helicopter captured video of a "monster" crocodile "white water rafting without the raft" in the Northern Territory.

Matt Wright, star of National Geographic's Outback Wranger, said he was fishing for barramundi when he spotted the massive croc in the rapids.

Wright posted a video of the crocodile to Facebook, where the footage quickly went viral.

"Look at that big boy. Not a bad sized crocodile, look at the size of that fella," Wright says in the video. "He is a monster!"

Wright's Facebook post said he wants to remind members of the public to be aware that the reptiles are active this time of year.

"This big fella's trying a little white water rafting without the raft," he wrote. "Remember big crocs are traveling around this time of year even in the nicest cleanest springs be careful and be croc wise."
