GLEN OSMOND, Australia, Jan. 12 (UPI) -- An Australian snake catcher was called to a South Australia home where an 11-year-old girl found a venomous eastern brown snake in an inflatable pool boat.

Snake Catchers Adelaide posted a video to Facebook showing a catcher's Jan. 10 visit to a Glen Osmond home where a mother reported her children had been playing around the pool all day.

The mother told the snake catcher her 11-year-old daughter had been about to jump into an inflatable boat when she spotted an eastern brown snake nestled up in a crevice.

"A close call today for a young girl who went to jump in this inflatable boat -- thank the stars she saw the brown snake in there otherwise it would've been [an emergency] call, a trip to hospital or worse. I was only about 15 minutes away luckily and he was still in the boat when I arrived -- he was the quickest little brown snake I've ever picked up," the Facebook post said.
