Manatee approaches Florida kayakers for a belly rub

SATELLITE BEACH, Fla., Jan. 9 (UPI) -- A pair of kayakers shared video of their encounter with an unusually friendly manatee that allowed one of them to give it a belly rub.

The video shows the filmer and a friend in a two-man kayak off the coast of Satellite Beach, Fla., when they spot the sea cow in the water nearby.

The men approach the manatee, which does not appear to fear humans, and the animal allows one of the men to stroke its back.

The manatee, apparently enjoying the contact, flips over to receive a belly rub from the man.
