"Y'all, this is what pure joy looks like," she wrote. "Also terror. Merry Christmas!"
Freeman shared photos of the man's wounds which she said required a trip to the doctor for stitches, but they enjoyed laughing at the bizarre situation.
The video quickly went viral, gathering hundreds of thousands of comments, including several claiming the animal was provoked or mistreated.
Freeman responded to the comments by saying the cat comes from a good home and describing the pet as "spoiled" and "a jerk."
"He wasn't 'provoked.' A grown up was acting overly excited as a joke and the cat walked across the room then back. He wasn't 'startled,'" she wrote. "You can clearly see him walk up and calmly sit while planning his attack. Also, this is not my cat. No reason for me to lie."
Despite the cat's reputation as a "jerk," Freeman shared photos of herself with the man and the cat with the PS4 to show that everyone was living together in harmony after the incident.
