ALPHARETTA, Ga., Dec. 23 (UPI) -- Firefighters in Georgia were caught on video rescuing a deer that became tangled in a rope or cord hanging from a tree.

A video posted to Facebook by the Alpharetta Department of Public Safety shows the buck trying to escape from the object and then swinging in the air when it attempts to run.

Firefighters are able to use a blanket to hold the deer's antlers against the tree while they cut through the binding.

The deer, apparently uninjured, runs off into the woods after being freed.

Alpharetta police spokesman George Gordon said an officer responded to a call from a citizen and summoned firefighters from Fire Station 86 to the scene to conduct the rescue.

"Now Santa has all of his [deer]," Gordon told the Atlanta-Journal Constitution.
