CLEVELAND, Nov. 3 (UPI) -- A Florida man is drawing attention for a tweet that predicted the events of Game 7 of the 2016 World Series two years before it was played.

Twitter user @RaysFanGio's tweet from Nov. 4, 2014, went viral during the game Wednesday night when it was found to have correctly predicted the Chicago Cubs would face the Cleveland Indians in a Game 7 that went into extra innings.

The tweet read:

"2016 World Series.

Cubs vs Indians

And then the world will end with the score tied in game seven in extra innings #apocalypse"

Twitter users expressed amazement at Gio's correct predictions for all but the very end of the game -- he predicted an apocalypse instead of the Cubs' victory following a 108-year title drought. There were some tense moments, however, when a rain delay led some to suspect Gio's predicted apocalypse was nigh.

Some accused Gio of somehow faking the tweet, but he said the prediction was made on the day the Cubs signed Joe Maddon as manager. He said he was also impressed at the time by Cleveland's stable of young pitchers.

Gio wasn't the first to correctly predict a portion of the 2016 World Series -- a student at California's Mission Viejo High School captioned his 1993 yearbook photo with a prediction for the end of the series: "Chicago Cubs. 2016 World Series Champions. You heard it here first."
