"This seems like a silly question...but are you missing your alpaca?" Police said. "This sweet girl was found on Indian Lookout Road near Lyons. "

Police said animal control officers searched the alpaca for a tracking chip, but were unable to find one.

They intended to search for a chip or any other identifying information, as they awaited a call from the alpaca's owner.
