LEE VINING, Calif., Oct. 24 (UPI) -- The California Department of Transportation shared a video showing the explosive method used to remove enormous boulders from a roadway.

Caltrans District 9 posted a video to Facebook showing the Wednesday removal of two boulders that fell into the Tioga Pass, a roadway in the Sierra Nevada Mountains near the entrance to Yosemite National Park, during heavy weekend storms.

The video shows Caltrans workers detonating the two boulders, which officials said were too large to remove with normal equipment.

Caltrans said about 10 boulders had to be removed with explosives after the storm.
