Confused and territorial peacock focuses aggression on its own reflection

DURBAN, South Africa, Oct. 10 (UPI) -- A confused peacock in South Africa mistook its reflection in a shiny car's paint for a rival bird and set about teaching the mirror image a lesson.

A video recorded Oct. 1 near Durban shows the peacock advancing on the parked, dark-colored car and taking an aggressive posture aimed toward its reflection in the paint.

The peacock, unsatisfied with its reflection's failure to yield, attacks the car with a flurry of pecks and scratches.

It was unclear whether the peacock caused any damage to the vehicle.
