KENSINGTON, Conn., Oct. 4 (UPI) -- A Connecticut man celebrated his birthday in a most enviable fashion: collecting a $195,214 lottery jackpot.

Mark Letizio of Kensington visited Connecticut Lottery headquarters on his birthday to collect his winnings from two Cash5 tickets that matched all give numbers, earning him $97,607 apiece.

Letizio said the numbers he entered in the Sept. 21 drawing were the same "weird numbers" he had been using for more than a month.

"I wasn't even going to play! I took the dog for a ride" and ended up buying the winning tickets, Letizio said.

Letizio said he plans to pay off some bills and possibly buy a new work truck with his winnings.

The Food Bag store in Kensington where Letizio bought his winning tickets was awarded a pair of $1,000 bonus checks for selling the winners.
