Massachusetts football players rescue cat from drain pipe

A cat stuck in a drain pipe in Massachusetts was rescued by a pair of high school football players. The two high schoolers lowered a bucket into the pipe in order to hoist the cat to safety.

BROCKTON, Mass., Sept. 21 (UPI) -- A pair of high school football players in Massachusetts helped rescue a cat which had fallen down a drain pipe.

George Lampros shared video to Twitter as he and teammate Max Sergio used a bucket to hoist up to safety.

The pair used a crowbar to pry the drain cover off in order to lower the bucket down into the hole, according to CBS Boston.

The team's coach referred to Lampros and Sergio as the team's "most valuable people" following the rescue.
