Koala causes adorable interruption to soccer game in Australia

NOOSA HEADS, Australia, Sept. 12 (UPI) -- A woman filming her son's soccer game in Australia captured the moment a koala ran out onto the field during a break.

Maneena Roberts, whose son was playing in the Sept. 9 grand final match between the Woombye Snakes and Kawana Force at the Noosa Lions Football Club in Queensland, captured video of the koala running onto the field as play was about to resume.

The marsupial sportsfan was escorted off the field by amused players.

"It lightened the whole crowd ... everyone was laughing and enjoying the koala," Roberts said.
