MT. STERLING, Ky., Aug. 31 (UPI) -- A group of Kentucky farmers rescued a calf from an 8-foot-deep sink hole after its mother was seen crying out for help.

The video shows a farmer at Culliver Farm in Mt. Sterling climbing into the hole last week to tie a rope around the calf so he and his colleagues could hoist the baby animal out of the hole.

The rescued calf then runs away, apparently uninjured.

The filmer said the farmers were alerted to the situation when the mother cow was seen "bawling loudly" while looking at the hole in the ground.
