SAN DIEGO, Aug. 30 (UPI) -- A pug named Gidget took to the beach in San Diego to ride the waves atop a quad-finned surfboard.

The video shows the pug balancing atop a surfboard at Del Mar Beach while wearing a tiny canine-style floatation vest.

Gidget gets a push-off from her coach and surfs the waves like a pro.

The dog's owner said Gidget has competed in numerous canine surfing contests in California.
