BEACONIA, Manitoba, Aug. 30 (UPI) -- A landlocked and abandoned train has been placed for sale on a Canadian auction site for $25,000.

The post on auction site Kijiji states the price of the train was dropped $5,000 from its original list price.

"Ready to roll, just need to get it to the tracks," the post states.

Noel Chartier told the CBC he was contracted to sell the train by its owners NRI Global Inc.

"The challenge is, with the tracks being gone, it's landlocked. Makes it a little harder to sell, a little more expensive to move," he said.

Chartier added he received about five legitimate offers from people seeking to buy the train, including a business owner who wanted to use the train for advertising and a British Columbia museum, which launched a failed Go Fund Me campaign to acquire the engine.

One potential buyer wanted to put the train to use, and Chartier said the train can still run, but the auction winner would be responsible for transporting it.

The train is worth about $25,000 in scrap metal and would likely be broken down for recycling, except the engine and generator.
