VICTORIA, British Columbia, Aug. 3 (UPI) -- A Canadian woman was reunited with her missing garden gnome, along with a photo album chronicling its travels during its absence.

Global News reported Leopold the gnome was stolen from Bev York's garden about eight months ago. It reappeared outside her home earlier this week alongside a photo album with a journal explaining its disappearance.

"I saw a motor home toddle along...and I thought to myself, 'there's got to be more to life than standing knee-deep in rain water, being peed on by the neighborhood dogs and staring at the same view every single day' so I hopped on," the first entry read.

York told the CBC the album was filled with several more entries, which indicated the gnome had traveled from its home in Victoria to the Grand Canyon and even Mexico.

While she said she had "no idea" who was responsible for the prank, York said she was not upset and called the gnome's travels "a sweet story."

"They made a lot of people smile with it and it's a lot of hard work that's gone into it," she said of the pranksters.
