NEW YORK, July 22 (UPI) -- A Pokemon Go player in New York claims to have captured all 142 of the digital monsters known to be available in the United States.

Brooklyn-based Pokemon Master Nick Johnson shared a screenshot of the game on Reddit showing he has captured 142 Pokemon, the maximum number believed to be available in the United States.

Pokemon Go currently boasts only the 151 monsters from the first generation of the gaming franchise, but three of the Pokemon -- Mr. Mime, Kangaskhan, and Farfetch'd -- are believed to be region-specific and the other six are currently a mystery.

Johnson, head of platform for startup Applico, said he spent up to eight hours a night walking the streets of Brooklyn and Manhattan to bolster his collection in the augmented reality game.

He said the most difficult Pokemon to catch was Porygon, which required a trip to Jersey City.

"I may or may not have seen it on the radar and then ordered an Uber to drive me around until I found it," Johnson told Business Insider.

Johnson, a member of Team Valor, said he is hoping developer Niantic improves the game's Gyms and battle systems to "make them more fun," but in the meantime he has a plan to replace his Pokemon-hunting habit.

"I will probably sleep more," Johnson said.
