CLINTON, N.J., July 22 (UPI) -- Crime stoppers in a New Jersey town are seeking the return of a giant inflatable duck, which went missing from a local pond.

The Town of Clinton shared a photo of a poster of the 5-foot 4-inch tall duck, which was last seen on Sunday during the town's annual rubber duck race.

"To the person or persons who are responsible, it might be best to get ducky back to where he belongs," they wrote.

According to NJ.com, the Hunterdon County Crime Stoppers are offering a $250 reward for the duck's return.

Clinton Guild President Diane Crisman-Race said were able to pin down a timeframe when it may have gone missing.

"We've pinned it down to after 10 p.m. and before 8:20 a.m. Monday," she said. "Sometime during that time period the duck went missing."

Crisman-Race maintained that the duck was likely stolen, as they were able to determine that the duck did not float away or sink to the bottom of the pond.

"We went to the top of the art museum and looked into the river," she said. "The water's clear enough to see through, and it's not there."
