TORONTO, June 30 (UPI) -- The second of two capybaras was captured in Canada about a month after escaping from a zoo in Toronto.

Toronto Parks, Forestry & Recreation shared a photo of the large rodent as they welcomed back the second half of the pair of capybaras that many compared to fugitive crime duo Bonnie and Clyde.

"Thanks to our dedicated Parks staff who never gave up, brought capys home safe and healthy," they wrote in a second tweet.

Staff finally managed to track down the second fugitive rodent about two weeks after its fellow escapee was captured in a local park.

"We actually got a phone call from a resident at about 7 a.m. saying come and get your capybara," Toronto parks department spokeswoman Megan Price told the CBC of the second capybara's capture.

Price said the capybara was discovered in a trap that had been placed near Grenadier Pond at about 6 a.m. on Tuesday.

"It's very exciting," she told the Toronto Star. "We knew that the capybara was in that area, but it's exciting that he's finally returned home."

Price added that although both capybara's have now been safely returned to the zoo, they won't be placed back on display outdoors immediately.

"Both captured capybaras remain indoors, but we're targeting for Thursday to bring let them outside," she said.
