Texas horse embarrasses owner by playing dead

GOODLOW PARK, Texas, June 9 (UPI) -- A pony in Texas showed of its impressive acting skills and embarrassed its owners by learning how to convincingly play dead.

The pony's owner, Kelley, shared photos and video of the dramatic animal when an electrical contractor sought to inform her the horse had died after falling for his trick.

Despite the contractor's insistence, Kelley assured that the prankster pony named Pinto was merely "playing possum."

The video shows Kelley going to check on Pinto and pleading with the horse to drop the act, while it stubbornly neighs in opposition.

"Why do you keep playing dead?" she inquires while pleading with Pinto to get up to no avail.

After some time Kelly eventually begins picking up objects from the ground and hurling them at Pinto and after several attempts successfully encourages the pony to stand upright again.

Kelley also shared a video fo one of Pinto's earlier performances to confirm that she was aware of the pony's flare for the theatrical before receiving the call from the electrical contractor.
