OLAFSFJOROUR, Iceland, May 31 (UPI) -- An Icelandic town celebrated the country's national holiday by taking turns speeding down a giant slippery water slide set up in a field.

The Slip'N Slide-style water slide was set up in the city of Olafsfjorour for a celebration in advance of the upcoming Icelandic National Day.

A video of the water slide in action was posted to YouTube by user tio extreme.

The video shows residents of all ages going over the first hump -- some catching air at the peak -- and sliding on the plastic surface below.
