MATARAM, Indonesia, May 25 (UPI) -- An octopus off the coast of Indonesia was filmed making the best of sea pollution by building itself a house out of a flip-flop and a spoon.

The video, filmed off the coast of Lombok Island, propping up the footwear on some debris before dragging the spoon into his makeshift house.

"Octopuses are intelligent marine creatures that can adapt well to their environment -- and even though pollution with plastic is a huge global problem in the oceans, in some cases trash can also serve as hiding place for marine animals," the filmer wrote online.

A similarly enterprising octopus was previously caught on camera in Indonesia using two halves of a coconut shell to roll along the ocean floor.
