AGUA DULCE, Calif., May 23 (UPI) -- Firefighters in California used a crane to rescue a horse that fell into a 12-foot-deep well at a famous ranch often used as a set for movies.

A Los Angeles County Fire Department crew responded just after 11 a.m. Saturday to the Sweetwater Movieland Ranch in Agua Dulce on a report of a horse trapped in a well.

The crew used a crane to hoist the horse, which was not injured, out of the 12-foot-deep hole.

Officials said the horse remained calm during the rescue, making tranquilizers unnecessary.

Video and photos of the rescue were posted to the @FireScannerSCV page on Twitter.
