Baby goat found roaming streets of California

AZUSA, Calif., May 13 (UPI) -- Police in California were seeking the family of a missing "kid" after a baby goat was found wandering the streets.

Azusa Police Department shared photos of the lost baby goat after it was seen walking about the streets without an owner.

"This kid [baby goat] is currently in custody for violation of section 853.4(a) - Goat Roaming Azusa Streets Without Consent of Owner. It was running around the area of Foothill Boulevard and Coney Avenue," police wrote.

According to the San Gabriel Valley Tribune, police took to calling the 1.8 pound goat "Billie" after it was brought to the station by a local business owner.

It is unclear where the goat came from, but a dispatchers wife who works as a veterinarian offered to take care of the kid as police searched for its owner.
