TEMPLE TERRACE, Fla., May 6 (UPI) -- A Florida woman arrived home to a shocking and unusual scene: a massive 9-foot alligator swimming in her pool.

Elizabeth Foster of Temple Terrace, near Tampa, said she was shocked Wednesday afternoon to discover her backyard pool wasn't vacant.

"I was headed towards the pool pump and something caught my eye and so I looked and there was a giant alligator in my pool," she told Bay News 9.

Foster summoned a trapper, who was able to capture the alligator after about two hours. She posted video of the gator's capture to YouTube.

Foster said she wasn't sure what drew the alligator to her home, as the nearest body of water is more than half a mile away.

"He chose my pool, so I felt very special. So, I thought I should name him," she said. "It was a male. So, I thought, yeah, he's my Loch Ness Monster."

The trapper said the alligator weighed about 250 pounds. He said the reptile was the largest he had ever captured from a pool in the area.
