ALBANY, N.Y., May 5 (UPI) -- A curious deer found itself in an unfortunate situation after getting its head stuck in a plastic light globe.

New York State Department of Environmental Conservation shared a photo of the deer with its accidental headwear and the officer who managed to remove it after a brief struggle.

"Environmental Conservation Officer (ECO) Jeff Hull received a call reporting that a deer in Centereach NY (Suffolk County), had managed to get its head stuck inside a light globe and had been laying in the woods since the previous night," the post stated.

Hull's first attempt to free the deer was thwarted by the wet globe, which allowed the deer to slip out of his grasp before falling over a downed tree.

After catching up with the deer for a second time, Hull used his jacket to get a tighter grip on the globe as the deer kicked and was eventually set free.

The deer quickly ran off and Hull was left with a few bruises from the encounter, according to the Facebook post.
