Advertisement "Last Wednesday Cuejoe was in the rear of the Burringurrah station yard stretching his legs when a large Wedge-tailed Eagle swooped down and picked him up, carrying him out of the police yard," Western Australia Police wrote on a May 1 Facebook post. Mason, who adopted the kangaroo after its mother was struck and killed by a large truck, was nearby when the eagle abducted Cuejoe and managed to track him down. "When he got there another Wedge-tailed Eagle had landed near Cuejoe but fortunately S/C MASON was able to scare the Eagles away and rescue Cuejoe," police wrote. According to police, Cuejoe's chest and face were wounded by the eagle's talons but is recovering well after receiving medical treatment.
