EARLY, Texas, April 7 (UPI) -- A man in Texas caught a massive 41-pound catfish that set several local records while fishing with his young son.

Russell Hair shared photos of the record-breaking yellow catfish, caught at Lake Brownwood, to the Texas Fishing Facebook group.

"New lake record. Rod record. Line record. And big fish award caught yesterday on a crank bait 18lbs test. 41lbs and 46 1/4 inches," he wrote.

According to FB Newswire, the catfish also had an 8-inch wide mouth and a 29-inch girth.

Texas fishing page administrator James Arthur Shannon also congratulated Hair for his catch.

"Big congratulations to Russell Hair for smashing some lake records yesterday!" Shannon wrote.
