BRISBANE, Australia, March 29 (UPI) -- A koala caused trouble for several commuters in Australia when it stopped traffic by attempting to cross a local road.

Mike Phipps shared photo and video on Facebook of the koala cautiously walking across the roadway as traffic began to pile up on Brisbane Valley Highway.

Drivers can be seen exiting their vehicles as a police officer attempted to guide the animal off of the road.

A photo from after the incident shows the officer looking on as the koala nestles itself into a tree with a seemingly disgruntled look on its face.

While the koala did not appear particularly grateful for the officer's help, Phipps commended him for his patience.

"Police officer showed great restraint in not arresting offender," Phipps wrote. "Only in Australia! Made our day."
