BOYNTON BEACH, Fla., March 11 (UPI) -- A kayak fisherman with a Florida charter company returned to shore empty-handed after a thieving bull shark made off with his catch of the day.

A video posted to YouTube by Deep Blue Fishing Charters shows a man fishing from a kayak with cameras mounted to catch the action.

The man gets a bite on his line and starts to reel in a good-sized fish, but another predator -- a large bull shark -- has other plans.

The shark grabs hold of the fish and thrashes while the man attempts to pull his catch free from the competition.

The charter company said the shark made three attempts to steal the fish from the line and was successful on its third try.
