Brown bear found swimming far off-shore in Russian lake

KORSAKOV, Russia, March 10 (UPI) -- A Russian man traversing a lake in the eastern part of the country shared video of an "unexpected encounter" with a bear swimming in the middle of the water.

The video, shot late last year, features a group of men boating in Lake Tunaycha when a mysterious shape appears in the water ahead of the them.

The men can be heard laughing as they realize the object is a brown bear swimming far off shore.

The bear does not appear to have any interest in the boat or its passengers and the animal paddles away.
