NBC 6 reported the ponies were first seen around 8:42 a.m.when police tried to block their path using squad cars lined up along the highway, but the ponies ran off in the opposite direction.

Police briefly herded the ponies around 9 a.m. before they escaped to a residential area where they ran through various backyards.

The ponies were then seen walking through the white fence of their supposed owner's home at around 9:20 a.m.

HAPPY ENDING: The prowling ponies that were loose on the Turnpike have safely returned home!
