The Montgomery County Police Department said Animals Services Division Officer Jennifer Gill responded to a report of an injured eagle walking into a wooded area about 8:45 a.m. Thursday. Advertisement "Officer Gill located the eagle in the woods. It appeared that the bird had an injury that prevented it from flying. Officer Gill wrapped the eagle in towels and Maryland Department of Natural Resources Officer Danny Thomas assisted Gill in placing the eagle in a carrier for safe transport to the Owl Moon Raptor Center, a wildlife rehabilitation center specializing in birds of prey," the department said in a Facebook post. The department shared video of the eagle, named Trust by Gill, being prepared for transport to the rehabilitation center. The Owl Moon Raptor Center said the female eagle was suffering a soft tissue injury to her left shoulder. The center said the eagle was likely injured recently, as she was still a healthy weight.
