EDINBURGH, Scotland, March 1 (UPI) -- Dashboard and CCTV cameras in Scotland captured the moment an enormous fireball lit up the night sky.
Chris Scholes was driving through Glenlivet at about 6:45 p.m. Monday when his dashboard camera recorded the bright flash in the dark sky that appeared to be a very bright meteor.
Bill Addison was driving near Portgordon when his dash cam captured the bright flashing as well as what looked like a meteor streaking through the sky.
CCTV cameras at a home in Aberdeen recorded similar flashes in the sky Monday evening.
Police in Scotland said they received reports of loud booms and houses shaking as a result of what is thought to have been the meteoroid falling toward Earth.
