LUANGWA NATIONAL PARK, Zambia, Feb. 25 (UPI) -- A resident of a national park in Zambia captured video of a leopard making his way past a protective fence and sniffing him through a screen door.

Derek Shenton, who lives with his wife and daughters in Kaingo Camp, part of the Luangwa National Park, posted a video to YouTube showing what happened when he heard monkeys raising a ruckus outside of his home.

The cause of the monkeys' warning calls turned out to be a leopard that had no problem making his way around the protective cage Shenton built around his home.

The leopard calmly strolls up to Shenton as he films and sniffs the man's knee through the screen door.

"With Derek's heart-rate slowly returning to normal, the big male moved on, his curiosity fulfilled for the moment, he continued his afternoon patrol," text on the video reads.
