CARLSBAD, Calif., Feb. 17 (UPI) -- A California man shared video of himself and his friends using towels to wrangle a baby sea lion stranded in the middle of a busy road.

Matt McDevitt, who posted videos of his sea lion encounter on Twitter, said he was on the volleyball courts at the Warm Waters Jetty in Carlsbad Monday when he spotted the baby sea lion in the northbound lanes of Carlsbad Boulevard.

McDevitt and his friend stopped traffic on the road and used their beach towels to lead the creature back to the water.

The final video of the sea lion shows the animal waddling happily into the water.
