SAN FRANCISCO, Feb. 8 (UPI) -- An astronaut shared a photo he snapped of his brief time being able to see the Super Bowl "in person," from 249 miles up in the sky.

Scott Kelly, a NASA astronaut serving aboard the International Space Station, snapped a picture of Levi's Stadium in San Francisco during the Super Bowl Sunday.

Kelly said his view of the big game was brief, as the ISS continued to travel at 17,500 mph around the earth.

Kelly, whose year-long mission in space is due to end March 2, was able to watch the game on TV thanks to NASA's Mission Control Center.

"Hosted #SuperBowl party on @space_station, but no one showed up. I would have served nachos!" Kelly joked on Twitter.
