RIGA, Latvia, Feb. 2 (UPI) -- A snowboarder in Latvia used an aerial drone to demonstrate a new twist on the sport, dubbed "drone boarding."

The video, posted to YouTube by Kaspars Balamovskis, shows a massive Aerones drone being prepped and taking off while trailing a long rope in Riga.

A snowboarder holds onto the other end of the rope and is taken on a wild ride reminiscent of water-skiing.

The video features footage filmed from a car following the snowboarder as well as footage recorded by a GoPro camera mounted to the snowboarder himself.
