Dog loses battle of wits to mimicking chipmunk toy

CANBERRA, Australia, Jan. 19 (UPI) -- An Australian dog owner shared video of an Airedale terrier engaging in a battle of wits with its intellectual equal: a mimicking toy chipmunk.

The video, posted to YouTube by user Meow, shows Plato the Airedale terrier barking at the toy rodent -- a "Chattermunk," the uploader says -- which records the canine's own barks and lobs them back in his direction.

The dog and toy exchange several audible volleys before the confused canine tries to get physical and knocks the toy on its side.

The victory proves minor, however, as the Chattermunk continues to mimic the dog's vocalizations.

"You idiot," a man laughs from off-camera.
