EATONTOWN , N.J., Jan. 19 (UPI) -- A cat was adopted from a local New Jersey shelter after social media users pointed out its resemblance to the actor Adam Driver.
Twitter user Marci Robin posted a photo of the cat named Corey, who was being held at the Monmouth County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, comparing it to Driver, who recently stared as Kylo Ren in Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
"Tell me this cat at Monmouth County SPCA doesn't look like Adam Driver," she wrote.
The tweet quickly drew the attention of the internet gaining more than 1,200 retweets after being posted on Saturday and reposted by popular pages such as parody account "Emo Kylo Ren".
By Sunday, Corey's internet fame ultimately led to it finding a new home as the shelter announced via Twitter that the cat had been adopted.
"Corey aka Kylo Ren has been adopted!" they wrote, also thanking Robin for attracting so much attention.
