The company started offering the Manhattan booze deliveries Wednesday through its Prime Now mobile app, and members of the $99-per-year Amazon Prime service receive free two-hour delivery on their orders or $7.99 for one-hour delivery. Advertisement Prime Now head Stephenie Landry said the alcohol delivery service, which was previously made available in the company's hometown of Seattle, is planned to expand to more of the 20-some cities that offer services through the Prime Now app. Landry told Re/Code the roll out has been slow because "we've been careful about the regulatory landscape." The service in Manhattan is advertised as being available from 6 a.m. to midnight seven days a week, but a reviewer told the New York Post the hours of availability depend on the business hours of stores nearby the location requesting delivery. Amazon holds a liquor license to sell its own alcohol in Seattle, but the New York service relies on city retailers because it is not licensed to sell alcohol directly in the city, the company said.
