SAGINAW, Mich., Dec. 7 (UPI) -- A Michigan student who hired a fake family to pose for his Christmas card pictures said he hopes the pictures going viral won't tip off his real relatives.

Josh Brassow, a student at Saginaw Valley State University, posted to the Saginaw's Big Yard Sale Facebook page seeking a fake family to take Christmas card photos that he would distribute to his relatives.

Brassow posted the resulting photo, which featured a heavily-tattooed wife dubbed Patty "Bone Crusher" Johnson and the fictional couple's children: Blade and Thor.

The student removed the post from his Facebook, explaining the photo had unexpectedly gone viral and he didn't want to ruin the surprise.

Well, I didn't mean to, but I went viral. Photo has been seen almost 100,000 times in the last 8 hours. Yes its real....

"Well, I didn't mean to, but I went viral. Photo has been seen almost 100,000 times in the last 8 hours. Yes its real. Yes its actually happening tomorrow. Good thing my family isn't on facebook, I would hate it if this prank got spoiled," he wrote.

Brassow may yet have trouble hiding his prank, as the plan proved popular on social media and led to interview requests from media outlets including Good Morning America.
