WAYNE, N.J., Nov. 23 (UPI) -- Police in New Jersey said a woman called in a hoax 911 report so she could drive intoxicated and later bragged about the crime on Facebook.

The Wayne Police Department said Hayley Oates, 25, called 911 with a false report of a woman being assaulted by a man in the parking lot of Mother's Ale House because she was planning to drive intoxicated with a friend and there was a police officer parked near the Grasshopper Bar & Grill, where she had been drinking.

Police responded to the parking lot, where they determined no assault was taking place.

Oates later posted on Facebook: "lmao.. 2 mins later the cop peals out.. silly piggies tricks r for u."

Oates was arrested on charges of filing false reports to law enforcement and creating false public alarm.

"You're misusing the system. You have 911 personnel that are answering the call. You have police officers that should be doing other things, are now responding to a call that's false so that you can drive away drunk?" Wayne police Detective Capt. Laurence Martin told CBS New York. "And then bragging about it on social media -- that's as dumb as it gets."
